Ready to take your engineering and management experience to the next level to work on complex Rail Systems Design Build projects that will have a benefit to our communities. Parsons is now hiring a Systems Engineering Manager who can lead a team of professionals overseeing the extensive and critical Systems Engineering activities for a variety of complex Rail Transit projects in the BC, Vancouver area.

We need our Engineering Managers to be versatile as well as have exceptional communication, analytical, and management skills. In this role, you will provide management and direction for Systems Engineering activities in the pursuit and execution of these projects.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains appropriate staffing level, including temporary personnel, as needed. Reviews and approves staff forecasting reports.
- Manages the Systems Engineering processes for relevant disciplines required for the project or program.
- The role will require coordination with the System Safety and RAM team and processes.
Coordinates all Systems Engineering staffing requirements for the program, providing supervision, guidance and mentoring. - Monitors the quality and progress of the Systems Engineering activities on the project, ensuring that performance and process requirements are satisfied.
- Works closely with other Engineering Managers, including System Safety, System Design, civil, and other disciplines to resolve any existing or forecasted problems related to team staffing, quality of work, schedule, performance, or delivery.
- Participates in the application and development of Systems Engineering tools, processes, and procedures for the project or for the organization.
Supports precontract and business development efforts as required, serving as technical consultant. - Ensures performance within overhead budgets authorized for the Systems Engineering discipline.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or related field)
- 15+ years of related work experience, including supervisory/managerial experience in the field of complex systems involving significant software components.
- Professional Engineer registration
- Proven ability to perform in a supervisory/managerial capacity.
- Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills, combined with attention to detail.
- Thorough knowledge of industry practices, standards, and regulations is required, including the IEEE-15288 Standard for Systems and Software Engineering as well as other IEEE standards for software engineering.
- Experienced with and knowledgeable of the application of Systems Engineering in concert with the EN-5012x suite of standards for Railway RAM and Safety, and the RAM and Safety Analyses that must be supported by Systems Engineering.
- INCOSE CSEP certified asset.
- Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific system engineering software tools for use in completing engineering assignments, including Requirements Management and Configuration Management.
Salary Range:
