Are you a highly skilled Structural Engineer with a passion for leadership and technical excellence? Parsons is seeking an exceptionally talented Technical Manager to help shape the future of innovative structural design. In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering cutting-edge transit infrastructure projects, guiding a team of engineers, and collaborating with top-tier professionals across disciplines. What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design Structural Steel Structure/ Buildings using software packages (i.e.: Sap 2000), following CSA S-16-19 Handbook of Steel Construction..
  • Design Reinforced Concrete Structure using structural analysis software packages (SAFE, ETABS, S-Concrete, Etc.) following CSA A23.3-19 Concrete Design Handbook.
  • Verify the design using hand calculations following the CSA design codes CSA A23.3-19 and CSA S-16-19.
  • Markup Structural Steel details for BIM technologists and EITs.
  • Markup Rebar detail for Reinforced Concrete structures for BIM technologists and EITs.
  • Manage and review the design work for Engineers and BIM technologists
  • Perform Quality Assurance to Structural Discipline project
  • Design coordination with other disciplines, Clients and Construction Managers.
  • Preparation of Calculation Packages.
  • Site visits and issuing site visit reports.
  • Prepare Structural Specifications.
  • Contribute in Proposal Writing.
  • Act as a technical knowledge center in Transit Structures/ Facilities.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Structural Design experience in producing structural drawings and specifications.
  • Structural analysis software packages knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Mentorship of Junior & Intermediate Engineers.


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Transit Projects Structural experience.
  • Experience in structural design following Metrolinx Design Railway Manual (DRM) standards and in American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA 2023) standards.
  • Experience in Masonry design following CSA S304-19 standards.
  • Higher degree Masters or Doctorate in Structural design is considered an asset.
  • Computational Design knowledge and experience.
  • Structural Lead on major projects.
  • Proposal Writing experience.
