Partnering in a collaboration with the Town of Coaldale Recreation Centre, students need only step across a hallway to access a premier fitness center, complete with indoor running track. Prairie Winds Secondary School (Grades 7-12) currently invites motivated individuals that possess a Red Seal in Culinary Arts to make an application for the Culinary Arts Instructor position available August 26, 2024, until June 26, 2025.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate, under the direction & supervision of the Principal will:
Instruct a number of commercial (Pro Cooking) modules and courses
Work closely with the Home Economics Teacher in developing modules and courses that would not overlap between programs
Supervise students and promote student participation in the Skills Canada Competitions.
Prepare and promote nutritious food items for students
The successful candidate will oversee all activities related to the Coaldale Prairie Winds High School commercial kitchen, including, but limited to:
Lunch menus & sales
Concession at extracurricular events
Serving food to the community centre side of the building (hours TBD)
Preparing nutritious snacks available for students before and after lunch
Prepare quick and easy breakfasts once or twice a week
Experience & Qualifications:
Alberta Red Seal Culinary Arts Chef;
Previous experience instructing culinary arts an asset;
Current CRC including Vulnerable Sector check.

The successful candidate must be a team player, have a positive attitude and good organizational skills
The successful candidate must be a Red Seal Chef and capable of overseeing students in the RAP program
Experience in the food industry would be an asset
A Food Safe handling permit is required or needs to be obtained
In order to maintain a safe and secure working environment, applicants new to The Palliser School Division must provide:
Criminal Record Check, including vulnerable sector check from Local Police Service or RCMP detachment;
Social Insurance Number (SIN) card or document issued by Service Canada; SIN card/document must be in current legal name. Name on SIN card/document must match your Government Issued ID and Criminal Record Check;
Government issued ID - valid driver's license, valid passport or Nexus card.
