Under the direction of the Team Lead of Network Infrastructure, the Senior Network Analyst is responsible for tasks related to all network related systems with a strong focus on Wi-Fi and Network Observability. Additionally; Local and Wide Area Networks, Internet Services, Corporate servers and related systems such as, research, design, test and implement new systems or enhancements to existing systems; install, test, check and maintain hardware and software related to enterprise networking; plan, implement, maintain and support networks; provide technical expertise and training to team members and users; assign work to and provide assistance and support to other Department staff. Qualifications
College Diploma in Computer Technology and 4 to 5 years related experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered;
Knowledge of and hands-on experience administering Enterprise Wi-Fi systems.. Knowledge of Aruba Central and Clearpass systems preferred;
Knowledge and experience with HPE / Aruba Networking, Extreme Networks, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Azure, APC, Solarwinds, and Zabbix are considered an asset.
Ability to lead large technical projects with multiple stakeholders and minimal oversight or guidance. Providing input and direction on technology upgrades, new products and technology. Able to lead a proof of concept with clear success criteria and deliver the results to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.
Knowledge of computer (desktop/server) hardware, software, networking, AI (Agentic, ML, LLMs, and Generative), and peripherals in multi-user/LAN/WAN environments such as, Linux , Microsoft Windows Server, MacOS and procedures such as system programming, routers, network switches, firewalls, server management, back-up methodologies, and network usage;
Experience with Administering Network Observability Platforms such as Solarwinds, Zabbix, Nagios, etc
Knowledge of hardware, communications and software concepts for a full range of computer configurations from, client/server to desktops,
Deep knowledge of Network protocols and services (e.g. Enterprise WiFi, RADIUS, TCP/IP, SASE, ZTNA, DNS, DHCP, SaaS, IaaS, and other cloud services);
Knowledge of relevant Board policies and procedures;
Technical skills to provide assistance to users on the network and server functions;
Written communications skills for structured documentation of the total network.
Interpersonal and communication skills to exchange and clarify information, and the ability to understand and respond to inquiries.
Ability to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with Board Personnel, vendors, consultants, and companies; organization and time management skills to prioritize work/projects and manage multiple priorities and concurrent demands;
Ability to be a technical leader and mentor within a highly technical team.
Analytical skills for troubleshooting, identifying and solve networking, cabling and computer software/hardware problems;
Listening skills to identify problems and provide support on site or remotely;
Demonstrates initiative and judgment skills when making decisions on corrective action or when troubleshooting issues;
Research skills to locate resources and information, review vendor documentation, to conduct internet searches and evaluate software.
Ability to learn new materials and technology without instruction.
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Access to reliable transportation for traveling to schools, administrative sites, and vendor events as required.
