About Us
The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is the largest school board in Eastern Ontario and offers students and parents a world of choice for learning. Our nearly 150 schools offer a wide range of programs to promote learning excellence and meet the individual needs of students, parents, and the community at large. Our schools are teaching communities where principals, vice-principals, teachers and support staff nurture student well-being and challenge students to achieve their best.
We are seeking creative, dynamic, and committed teachers to join our teams at both Vincent Massey Public School & Lady Evelyn Alternate School! The successful candidate will start their morning at Vincent Massey, and travel to Lady Evelyn mid-morning to complete their itinerant assignment.
Vincent Massey PS is a large elementary school (K-8) that welcomes between 600-700 students in the English and Early French Immersion programs. VM also has a Deaf and Hard of Hearing class (1-8) and two Gifted Immersion classes (5/6, 7/8). The caring and dedicated staff work collaboratively to provide a safe and engaging learning space for all students and colleagues. They strive to meet all of the diverse students' needs. The staff provide a very collegial and supportive environment, mentoring new staff generously with their many qualifications, talents and areas of interest. VM is a great school that offers many opportunities for growth for new and experienced staff. As stated by many, joining the VM team is a wonderful experience!
Lady Evelyn Alternative is a beautiful, small alternative school in old Ottawa East. We have underground parking due to our smaller, but beautiful yard. As an alternative school, we strive to incorporate a balance between teacher and student led learning, collaboration, community involvement, student voice, cooperative activities, multi grade groupings and learning opportunities. The Discover Lab is a busy and welcoming space with hands on stem activities, a garden tower, and opportunities to build, observe, and explore.
Ideal candidates will support the fulfillment of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board’s (OCDSB) Strategic Plan to enhance the quality of education in the school, and the District, by creating a positive and inclusive school climate, learning and workplace environment.
