The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is the largest school board in Eastern Ontario and offers students and parents a world of choice for learning. Our schools are teaching communities where principals, vice-principals, teachers and support staff nurture student well-being and challenge students to achieve their best.

We are seeking creative, dynamic, and committed teachers to join our team at Terry Fox Elementary School. Terry Fox Elementary School is located in the residential community of Convent Glen in a thriving bilingual community. Terry Fox is a Grade 4-8, dual track school, of approximately 225 students offering English with Core French and Early French Immersion. Staff, students and parents work together to create a positive environment of mutual respect and cooperation. The school fosters a climate where students learn the responsibilities of good citizenship, leadership, and how to expand individual interests, skills and talents.

Ideal candidates will support the fulfillment of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board’s (OCDSB) Strategic Plan to enhance the quality of education in the school, and the District, by creating a positive and inclusive school climate, learning and workplace environment. Candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and respectfully, with a human rights and equity perspective, to foster student success, achievement and well-being.

Eligibility List

This posting is open to all Occasional Teachers who DO NOT already have a part time contract, prior to September 1, 2025. Any OT's who were awarded a contract for September 1, 2025, are considered an OT until August 31, 2025, and must apply to List 2B contracts as an OT applicant.

**Please note that at OCDSB the term contract refers to positions that are permanent and not Long Term Occasional (LTO) or temporary assignments.

The French language freeze continues to be in effect. Therefore, if you accept any teaching percentage of French contract, you may only be considered for other French contract positions.

Required OCT Divisional Qualifications: Junior/Intermediate

Required OCT Additional Qualifications: Spec ed part 2

Additional Qualifications, Experience, or Knowledge that would be an asset to this Position: An interest in working in an SPC with strong relationship building skills and a growth mindset is an asset. An interest in trauma informed pedagogy, social emotional training and restorative practices is also an asset.

Additional Information about this Position: Age range junior-Intermediate, low student to educator ratio, with a collaborative and supportive team.
