Early Learning Centre Program Coordinator (Toddler, Preschool)

TERM: August 5, 2025 - September 3, 2026

Shingwàkons PS Site

Roles and Responsibilities:

Under the Manager of Early Learning, the Program Coordinator in the Early Learning Centre coordinates the work of, and works with, the Early Childhood Educators (Toddler and Preschool Program) on site to provide high quality and effective play-based education and care to support learning and cognitive, emotional and social development of children in accordance with the CCEYA (Childcare and Early Years Act)



Qualifications:

A thorough understanding of early childhood development and its application in the infant, toddler preschool environment. The incumbent must have strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to deal with parents, staff, and students and has the ability to use tact and discretion. The incumbent demonstrates sensitivity to individual needs of children in a multi-cultural environment; demonstrates initiative and creativity and adapts well to changing demands. Leadership skills to direct activities towards timely completion of assigned tasks. Organization and management skills to handle multiple priorities. Ability to work with minimum supervision, and must be able to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment. Leads by example.

These skills would normally be acquired through completion of a two-year community college program in Early Childhood Education, or equivalent. Registration with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators is required. A minimum of 2 years related experience is required. Valid First Aid certification/CPR is required. Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.

Salary Expectations:

$63,297 - $74,435

Benefits included if term is 12 months or more from position start date
