About the Role
We are seeking a Construction Estimator to support large-scale, high-rise residential and commercial projects, with responsibilities spanning full-cycle estimating and project coordination.
This role goes beyond traditional estimating—you will be involved in preconstruction planning, scope coordination, and supporting project execution through early phases. The ideal candidate understands both costing and constructability, and can help bridge the gap between estimating and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Preconstruction (Primary Focus)
- Prepare detailed full-scope construction estimates for large scale high-rise residential and commercial projects
- Analyze architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings and specifications
- Perform quantity take-offs and develop accurate project budgets
- Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier bids
- Lead bid submissions and support closing contracts
- Identify cost risks, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities
- Develop conceptual budgets and cost plans during early design stages
Project Coordination / PM Involvement
- Support estimating to project management
- Support project setup including scopes, budgets, and procurement planning
- Participate in subcontractor scope reviews and buyout processes
- Provide cost tracking support and budget validation during early project phases
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure alignment between estimate and execution
- Attend internal project meetings and contribute to planning discussions
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 7–10+ years of experience in construction estimating
- Strong experience with high-rise residential and commercial projects
- Proven ability to estimate large-scale projects
- Solid understanding of all construction divisions and trade coordination
- Experience working with or alongside mechanical scopes (HVAC/plumbing/sheet-metal knowledge is an asset)
- Familiarity with estimating tool Autobid
- Strong understanding of construction workflows from preconstruction through execution
- Knowledge of local building codes and practices in Fort Lauderdale
