Your role as Mechanical Engineer - Valve Expert

As part of a growing design team, our Mechanical Engineer - Valve Expert will be responsible for the design of various components of Oneka's unique desalination systems.

With your extensive expertise in design, testing, valve assembly and hydraulic components, you will bring your expertise to our innovation team, as well as having a consultative role in the design of many of the hydraulic elements found in our new product, in order to pursue the continuous improvement of our buoys.

More specifically, here are your key responsibilities as Mechanical Engineer - Valve Expert:

  • Design complex valves and hydraulic components for high-pressure desalination systems;
  • Determine dimensional and geometric tolerances of assembly parts;
  • Examine valves within our desalination process;
  • Perform CFD simulations;
  • Perform fatigue and wear analyses on hydraulic systems;
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in product development;
  • Provide expertise in the design of hydraulic components for new products;
  • Participate in the assembly, manufacturing and testing of new parts and systems (hands-on work).

Requested skills

You're our next Mechanical Engineer - Valve Expert if you have :

  • A desire to make a lasting impact on the future of the planet;
  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent;
  • At least five years' significant experience in hydraulic systems design;
  • Extensive experience and interest in working with CAD (3D modeling and associated technical drawings);
  • Thoroughness and experience in managing revisions;
  • Excellent design skills;
  • A good dose of commitment, empathy and creativity.

It's an added bonus if you also have these assets in your pocket:

  • Fluency in English (as we operate in a bilingual environment), or Spanish;
  • Knowledge of the marine environment;
  • Workshop experience.
