About This Opportunity

The Glace Bay Primary Care Clinic (PCC) is located at Senator’s Heath Centre in downtown Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. The Glace Bay PCC provides temporary primary care access to patients registered on the Need a Family Practice registry and living in the Glace Bay community cluster*.
The clinic provides appointments for people who have an immediate health care need that requires care. Patients can make an appointment with a healthcare provider at the clinic while they continue to remain on the registry to find a family practice.
The clinic currently has Nurse Practitioners, a Registered Nurse (Family Practice Nurse) and access to a Social Worker and Dietitian. An EMR is utilized and report follow up can be done through the EMR.

*The Glace Bay Community Cluster includes all communities within the following geographic boundaries: Glace Bay, Dominion, Reserve Mines, Donkin- Port Caledonia, Birch Grove- Tower Road, Gardiner Mines, Port Morien, Round Island- Black Brook and Area.

Responsibilities
  • physician will be responsible to the zone department head of family practice for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice, and will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority
Expected Hours
  • Can accommodate full days or any number of hours a physician can offer
Qualifications
  • all applicants must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • all family physicians must have membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
  • membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
