About This Opportunity

This new NSH turnkey located in the heart of Dartmouth North, is seeking family physicians to join the Nurse Practitioner, Family Practice Nurse, and admin in a Collaborative Family Practice Team. This clinic will function as a health home to a core set of patients, work collaboratively with one another and support a true team-based care approach. Patients will be attached at clinic level which will foster enhanced collaboration across the team. There will be connection to other practices within Dartmouth North through a shared EMR and Urgent Care Centre care models. Primary Care in Dartmouth North is seeing significant growth over the immediate future, this is exciting for any family physician in collaborative care.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Examine patients, take health histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures, advise patients on health care health promotion and disease prevention
  • Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners
  • Act as patients' advocate
  • Prescribe and administer medications, treatments, inoculation and vaccinations
  • Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
  • Participate collaboratively as a member of a collaborative family practice team
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement as a member of the team

Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)

Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)

Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
