0.5 FTE SECONDARY TEACHER
ST. JOSEPH-SCOLLARD HALL
0.5 FTE (Three Sections, fully assigned in second semester)
Grade 9 English - De-streamed - ENL1WC
Grade 11 World Religions - HRT3MR
Grade 10 Applied History - CHC2PC
Effective February 2, 2026
Requirements:
- Basic qualifications to teach in the Intermediate Division - English
- Basic qualifications to teach in the Senior Division - Religion
- Basic qualifications to teach in the Intermediate Division - History
- Honours degree and/or subject qualification in Religion would be considered an asset.
- Teaching experience and sound knowledge of the programs in these divisions and subject areas.
- Ability to implement a shared vision consistent with the principles of Catholic education and integrating the Catholic Graduate Expectations within the curriculum.
- Deep knowledge of the Ontario Catholic Secondary Religious Education policy document Grades 9-12 and demonstrated instructional practices that also reflect the integration of our Catholic values and principles into instruction.
- Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom, as well as additional G-Suite digital tools and EDSBY.
- Demonstrated knowledge of how students learn effectively with a repertoire of proven instructional and assessment practices.
- Commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning, and to promoting an environment of innovation and creativity that engages the 21st century learner.
- Commitment to ongoing professional learning and collaboration through school-based PLC's, department meetings, co-planning and co-teaching.
- Knowledge, experience and proven ability in utilizing differentiated instructional approaches within the classroom that support effective instruction that support well-being, equity and inclusion.
- Flexibility to be assigned to other subject areas as the need arises.
- Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies.
- Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties.
- Knowledge of, and familiarity with, the school community.
