Description
New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Network Specialist to support an industrial site located in Sept-Îles, Quebec. This is a long-term, full-time, on-site contract role, ideal for a candidate with Cisco networking expertise, specifically within mining or heavy industrial sectors.
Responsibilities:-
Manage and support all network operations at a large site

Maintain and troubleshoot Cisco network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls)

Ensure secure access through VPN and SD-WAN solutions

Proactively monitor network performance and identify areas for improvement

Participate in the site’s IT infrastructure initiatives and contribute to high availability planning

Collaborate with other technical teams on root cause analyses and system upgrades

Maintain up-to-date documentation of network designs, configurations, and procedures

Provide responsive and effective on-site technical support

At least 8 years of experience in network administration or engineering roles

Must have experience working in a mining or heavy industrial sector

Willingness and ability to work full-time on-site in Sept-Îles, Quebec

Strong command of Cisco technologies and relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCNA, CCIE strongly preferred)

Expertise in VPN management, network security, and enterprise-scale routing/switching

Proficiency in both French and English is required
