A career as a Senior Analyst within National Bank’s Canadian Tax Operations team means contributing directly to the production, quality and compliance of the organization’s information returns.

Our team is responsible for issuing Canadian tax information slips for non-registered accounts, including T5/RL-3, T3/RL-16, T5013/RL-15, T5008/RL-18 and NR4 slips, as well as the related tax remittances and reconciliations.

You work in a specialized operational environment involving multiple systems, significant data volumes and various reporting cycles with strict regulatory deadlines. Through your rigour, autonomy and analytical skills, you take ownership of tax deliverables and become a go-to resource in your area of expertise.

  • Your role
  • Take ownership of assigned activities and deliverables across the various tax reporting cycles and ensure they are completed within established deadlines
  • Understand and apply regulatory requirements related to tax information slips
  • Analyze and validate significant volumes of financial and non-financial data to ensure data integrity, processing reliability and compliance of tax filings
  • Identify, analyze and resolve anomalies as well as operational, regulatory or technical issues related to the productions under your responsibility
  • Process tax remittances to tax authorities and resolve reconciliation discrepancies
  • Participate in testing and validation activities resulting from regulatory, technological or operational changes
  • Identify, recommend and implement improvements to processes, analyses and controls, including through the use of new technologies, artificial intelligence solutions and automation
  • Collaborate with various partners, respond to requests requiring advanced tax expertise, maintain up-to-date documentation and share your expertise to support knowledge development within the team

Your team

Join a team specializing in Canadian Tax Operations for non-registered accounts. As a cross-functional team, we support all of the organization’s legal entities and work with numerous internal and external partners. Our environment evolves with regulatory changes and includes multiple systems, processes and reporting cycles with strict deadlines. During tax season, the team also handles a high volume of support requests from Client Service teams and partners on tax matters requiring specialized expertise. Collaboration, versatility, knowledge sharing and continuous learning are central to how we work and enable us to collectively ensure the continuity and quality of our operations.

Prerequisites

  • Bachelor’s degree in taxation, accounting or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Canadian tax information slips, a strong asset
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a rigorous and structured approach
  • High degree of autonomy and initiative, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables while meeting strict deadlines
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills
  • Strong interest in new technologies and the ability to effectively integrate artificial intelligence and automation tools into work methods
