Description
A career as a Senior Manager Special Loans, part of the Risk Management Unit at National Bank, means to act as an expert for your sector. You will evaluate risks and irregularities and create turnaround strategies in managing high-risk large commercial accounts. You will have to improve overall credit quality by offering cost-effective credit solutions and reducing risks to the organization.
We will have the possibility to work in one of the following offices depending on where you are located currently: Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton or Toronto.
Your role
- Minimize loan losses, legal risks, and reputational risk for the Bank
- Restore the profitability of accounts in financial difficulty
- Ensure rigorous account monitoring to maintain portfolio quality
- Participate in committees that require a high level of expertise and represent the Bank with various organizations, agencies, and influential stakeholders in the field
- Minimize the volume of loans transferred to the impaired loan category
- Negotiate agreement conditions with various stakeholders
- Support and advise the business lines and credit sector when managing special cases and/or special projects.
Your team
Within the Special Loans sector, you are part of a team of 23 colleagues, and you report to the Vice-President, Special Loans. Our team stands out for its advanced knowledge on credit structuring and of the legal environment, as well as for its rigor and its experience that contribute year over year to the Bank’s objectives
Basic Requirements
- University diploma and 8 years of relevant experience
- Experience with bankruptcy and insolvency
- Experience with capital markets files, an asset
- Proven leadership when dealing with various stakeholders (other lenders, investors, and creditors, etc.)
- Strong negotiation skills.
