Description
As a Senior Legal Counsel for a 15‑month mandate, you play a key role in developing service agreements that support the Bank’s full range of products and services. You also contribute to strategic projects that require expertise in commercial law, technology, intellectual property, and information security. This role allows you to have a positive impact on our organization thanks to your legal reasoning, negotiation skills, business acumen, curiosity, relationship‑building abilities, and critical thinking.

Your role
- Act as a legal expert in setting up contracts for the acquisition of goods and services, ensuring the analysis, drafting, negotiation, and validation of legal clauses.
- Provide strategic legal advice that directly influences the activities, operations, and direction of the Bank and its subsidiaries.
- Understand the impact of applicable regulatory requirements and ensure that agreements comply with current legal standards.
- Draft and adapt various legal documents to ensure compliance and protect the Bank’s rights.
- Analyze, interpret, and review documents from various areas of law related to procurement operations.

Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in law with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
- Member of the Barreau du Québec or the Chambre des notaires du Québec with significant experience
- Experience in one of the following areas of law: commercial agreements, acquisitions and financing, or technology
- Ability to manage a high volume of files with varying deadlines
