Your teamWithin the Capital Markets and Treasury Risk Management sector, you will join a team of 9 lawyers and one paralegal working closely with desks in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, New York, Dublin, London, and Hong Kong. Your role
- Draft and negotiate key transactional financial agreements such as the ISDA Master Agreement, GMRA, and GMSLA.
- Provide legal opinions and strategic recommendations to protect the Bank’s interests globally.
- Advise Capital Markets and Capital Management teams on derivatives, debt instruments, and structured products.
- Identify legal issues affecting financial contracts and propose practical solutions.
- Contribute to major projects with significant impact on the Bank’s activities worldwide.

Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in law and at least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Member of the Quebec Bar or any Canadian law society.
- Proven experience negotiating ISDA, GMRA, and GMSLA agreements.
- Strong knowledge of financial transactions law and derivatives law.
- Familiarity with margin requirements for non-centrally cleared derivatives in Canada and the U.S.
- Bilingualism is not required for candidates located in Toronto; proficiency in spoken and written English is essential.
