A career as a Senior Director of the Operational Risk and Third-Party Risk Partners team (2A) at National Bank means you are responsible for leading and overseeing a team of partners who act as the primary point of contact for business sectors to ensure the consistent and effective application of operational risk and third-party risk management practices. This role requires you to mobilize a team and provide independent oversight while strengthening risk culture and accountability across first and second lines of defence.

Your role
- Promote a balanced approach combining partnership, advisory support, and independent challenge.
- Ensure that operational and third-party risk management frameworks, methodologies, and tools are understood, communicated, and applied consistently across business sectors.
- Ensure partners effectively support and hold first-line teams accountable.
- Identify issues requiring adjustments to existing frameworks and ensure timely communication to teams responsible for defining and deploying frameworks, methodologies, and tools (2B).
- Oversee the deployment and application of the operational and third-party risk appetite framework and ensure follow-up on threshold and tolerance limit breaches.
- Lead the objective review of the event and loss data collection process. Ensure the quality of root cause analyses, action plans, and timelines proposed by the first line, and conduct rigorous follow-up until full remediation.

- Oversee the critical review of first-line reporting.
- Ensure escalation processes are well understood and followed, and that objective reviews are conducted proportionately to the nature of the escalation.
- Work closely with teams responsible for defining and deploying operational risk management methodologies and tools (2B) to monitor implementation and ongoing compliance with various frameworks.

Requirements
- University degree related to the field of activity and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Significant experience in operational risk and third-party risk management.
- Demonstrated experience in people management.
- Strong experience in organizational transformation contexts.
- Ability to exercise independent, critical challenge while maintaining strong partnership relationships.
- Demonstrated rigour, prioritization skills, influence, and leadership.
- Ability to thrive in a regulated and evolving environment.
