Description
In this role, you provide matrix management for approximately 10 employees across the sector’s four teams. You help build lasting synergy across teams, maintain a shared understanding of key challenges, and support alignment with sector priorities, in close collaboration with other managers and our internal and external partners.
Your Role- Maintain an on-site presence and proximity in Toronto to support local employees and manage relationships with the sector’s clients located in this market, in line with the sector’s strategy and priorities
- Provide matrix leadership to a team of approximately 10 resources drawn from four specialized Fund Accounting teams, ensuring engagement, skills development, and performance
- Develop and sustain a cross-functional understanding of Fund Accounting activities (processes, deliverables, controls, interdependencies) to effectively coach and support profiles from multiple areas of expertise
- Work closely with the sector’s four managers to build strong synergy, ensure smooth communication, and enable rapid ownership of operational issues and growth-related priorities
- Collaborate with internal and external partners, influence decisions, and coordinate required actions to ensure service delivery is robust, consistent, and client-focused
- Contribute to the evolution of practices, processes, and control mechanisms by supporting transformation execution and operationalizing changes
Fund Accounting is a specialized and growing sector made up of four teams: NAV, Taxation & Distributions, Financial Statements, and ETF & Specialized Operations.
This role is part of a closely collaborative management approach, with a Toronto presence to ensure employee and client proximity, while remaining aligned with governance and business priorities.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree related to the field and 7 to 10 years of relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proven people management experience (engagement, coaching, performance), including the ability to lead in a multidisciplinary and/or matrix environment
- Strong, broad knowledge of Fund Accounting and its key cycles/deliverables, enabling effective support of employees from multiple teams and specialties
- Solid understanding of key sector environments and systems, with the ability to operate in a transforming operational technology context
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to influence and mobilize a range of internal/external partners toward shared goals
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, resolve complex issues, and support transformation execution
