A career as a Senior Director Financial Governance and Compliance - Finance in the Accounting, Consolidation and Disclosure team at National Bank this means playing a strategic and oversight role in managing the program related to Regulation 52-109 in order to ensure the reliability of the financial information disclosed by the Bank. It also involves exercising an independent oversight role over regulatory compliance for the Finance function. As leader of Regulation 52-109, you must ensure that internal controls are implemented throughout the Bank to ensure the quality of financial information and to attest to its effectiveness. As an independent regulatory compliance supervisor for the Finance sector, you must ensure that the control mechanisms implemented by the Finance teams are executed and effective in order to comply with regulatory obligations.

Your role
- Oversee the 52-109 financial certification program, including quarterly and annual certification processes
- Advise business lines and corporate sectors on controls related to financial integrity and recommend improvements to internal controls
- Produce strategic reports for the disclosure, audit and management committees
- Ensure the quality of published financial reports (annual, quarterly) with a critical eye on disclosure
- Oversee certification processes for programs related to securitization, regulatory capital/capital statements, leverage statements and liquidity statements, providing findings for attestation purposes
- Act as the second line of defense in terms of regulatory compliance for the Finance sector
- Diagnose compliance deficiencies, recommend solutions and follow up on action plans
- Participate in large-scale strategic projects and complex analyses
Prerequisites
- A completed bachelor's degree in a related field and 10 years of experience or a completed master's degree in a related field and 8 years of experience
- Professional Accountant designation (CPA) with solid experience in accounting, audit and compliance
- Excellent knowledge of the Bank's activities and processes, its sectors (business lines and corporate functions) and subsidiaries
- Proficiency in Regulation 52-109 respecting the attestation of information presented in issuers' annual and interim documents and in the assessment of internal controls and disclosure procedures
- Experience in an advisory role and interacting with senior management
- Ability to influence at all levels
- Ability to prioritize and manage a multitude of activities simultaneously
