A career as a Senior Developer - Design Ops in the UX UI team at National Bank means participating in the design of a design system to design useful, aesthetic, high-performance and differentiating digital solutions on the market. This job allows you to have a positive impact on our organisation, thanks to your knowledge of different development languages, your experience in a similar role and your strong sensitivity for UX.

You come to work with us and the information IT team to develop the design system that will be used in the brand new bnc.ca. A historic moment for digital at the Bank, not to be missed!

Your job

  • Develop a design system and its architecture for our information sites, in collaboration with other stakeholders
  • Develop reusable and accessible elements such as components, icons, page templates, variables, etc.
  • Contribute to the maintenance, continuous improvement, governance and justification of decisions made with regard to the design system.
  • Document in depth the design and rules of use of the components of the design system.
  • Design prototypes to test the desired experience with users or for high-fidelity mock-ups for development.
  • Manage the technological tools that ensure the hosting of the design system
  • Conduct technology monitoring to find or develop tools to improve the productivity of designers and developers.

Your team

The main management - Digital Experiences is a multidisciplinary team, expert in design, development and research.

In the Digital Vice-Presidency, you will be part of a senior management team of around fifteen colleagues. You will report to the Senior Digital Director and join the design ops team under the leadership of our UX/UI lead. Our team is at the heart of digital transformation and is uniquely focused on our customers and how they use our digital products and services. We aim to offer you maximum flexibility to support your quality of life. This translates into a hybrid work environment, as well as a flexible and adaptable schedule.

Prerequisite

  • Have a minimum of 5-7 years of development experience with similar responsibilities
  • You like to share new ideas and learn from others
  • You are multilingual and proficient: HTML5, JavaScript (React, Typescript, Next.js, Node.js, React Native), CSS 3, SASS, Flex Layout, accessibility standards (WCAG), automated testing (Jest and Applitools)
  • You have DevOps skills and know how to use application lifecycle management tools.
