The Wealth Management, Credit Risk Management team is currently looking for a Senior Analyst. Its mission is to protect the company's capital and minimize business risk related to client transactions while ensuring compliance with credit policy, transaction settlement rules and the situation that will prevail in the various markets.

As a Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing National Bank Financial’s brokerage accounts. You will need to intervene with portfolio managers/independent brokers to ensure compliance with the firm's credit policy and the rules governing the securities industry. Your work will also lead you to carry out simple and complex analysis scenarios to meet client requests with a view to sound risk management and minimize regulatory capital.

Your role:

  • Daily monitor delinquent accounts in accordance with the credit policy and securities industry rules
  • Intervene for all types of delinquent accounts and/or significant risks that could affect regulatory capital
  • After analysing the portfolio and based on the level of risk, you will have to liquidate the receivables to bring them to an acceptable level
  • Prepare, analyse and review various reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Support and advise our partners and clients on all credit and risk issues
  • Produce, analyse and review the monthly report used to calculate clients' regulatory capital
  • Report any problems that could affect capital and/or any situation that could potentially represent a material financial, legal or compliance risk to the senior leadership team in place
  • Approve cash outflow requests for a significant amount after analysing the client's portfolio and ensuring that cash is available at the time of the request in accordance with industry rules
  • Work closely with the various sectors in analysing files on all credit and risk issues
  • Always offer excellent customer service

This position reports to the Senior Manager - Wealth Management, Credit Risk and is a hybrid with offices located in downtown Toronto and Montreal.

Prerequisites:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one year of relevant experience OR university certificate/undergraduate diploma and three years of relevant experience
  • Have completed the following courses: CSC, Introduction to derivatives and Options Trading, and the Conduct standards Manual
  • A license to trade, including options, is preferred
  • Be familiar with the 5000 Series of CIRO
  • Knowledge of strategies and risks related to derivative strategies, particularly publicly traded options strategies
  • Excellent knowledge of financial products
  • knowledge of portfolio management
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Access
  • Ability to work under pressure and negotiation skills
