A career as a senior advisor in the management of nonperforming loan team at National Bank means putting your accounting knowledge and your ability to interpret the results of complex financial analyses to good use.


Your role

  • Act as an expert in the accounting of impaired loans and loan losses for the entire organization.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data, explain variances, and ensure that corrections are made (accounting for losses, influencing budget analysis, etc.).
  • Present the financial information requested on a quarterly basis for the purposes of financial statements and regulatory reports.
  • Ensure that all month-end, quarter-end and year-end controls have been applied to provide reliable information.
  • Represent the sector on large-scale projects.
  • Make recommendations to optimize the efficiency of operations, maximize the contribution of various content experts and coordinate process review.
  • Conduct risk analyses of the sector, projects and initiatives to ensure a governance framework to adequately manage all risks.

Your team

  • Within the management of nonperforming loan team sector, you are part of a team of 11 colleagues and report to the Senior Director, Governance and Business Processes. Our team stands out for its multidisciplinary skills.
  • You will play a key role in influencing industry decisions where you will develop an in-depth knowledge of credit loss management.

Prerequisites

  • Completed bachelor's degree, related to the industry and five years of relevant experience OR Master's degree related to the industry and three years of relevant experience OR University certificate/PUB 1st cycle and seven years of relevant experience
  • CPA accounting designation (CA, CGA or CMA)
  • Financial analysis experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and ability to work with multiple systems for analysis purposes
  • Strong communication skillsExperience in process improvement
  • Team spirit
  • Rigour, meticulousness and sense of initiative
