A career as a Product Director, Residential Financing, within the Financing Solutions team at National Bank, means acting as a market specialist in Canadian residential financing. Through your experience and knowledge of various distribution channels, market forces, and business strategies, you positively impact the client and employee experience, profitability, and client acquisition.

Your Role:
  • Act as a residential financing expert for senior management, peers, and partners.
  • Manage and evolve our product lines (strategic directions, tactical plans, risk appetite framework, client/employee/partner experiences, lifecycle management, etc.) and related processes.
  • Assess the Bank’s competitive position in the market and stay alert to evolving business needs to ensure growth in market share.
  • Propose product improvements and prepare business cases to achieve superior profitability while respecting our risk appetite and evaluating operational impacts.
  • Participate in drafting approval requests for risk, operational, and executive committees.
  • Ensure planning, development, implementation, application, and documentation of changes to products, policies, and programs.
  • Monitor portfolio performance (volume, revenue, losses, PCL, etc.) and make appropriate recommendations to improve the P&L.
  • Actively contribute to the ongoing budgeting exercise, considering economic outlooks and market trends.
Your Team:

You are part of a dynamic and passionate team of 7 Product Directors in Financing, reporting to the Senior Director, Personal Financing Solutions. By joining the Financing Value Chain, you play an expert role and collaborate closely with your team and partners to evolve the product offering by proposing improvements, monitoring performance, and ensuring excellent risk management. Together, you contribute to the success of the Personal Banking business line.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree related to the field and seven years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree and five years of relevant experience.
  • In-depth experience/knowledge in residential financing.
  • Proven experience in product management and understanding of the strategic dimension of products.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated leadership, influence and negotiation abilities, rigor, creativity, and innovation mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple mandates simultaneously with numerous stakeholders.
  • Advanced skills in financial analysis and personal credit.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
