A career as a Manager Financing Solutions within the Commercial Banking team means working closely with clients, Commercial Account Managers and several other internal and external partners as a sought after credit expert. This job allows you to have a positive impact on your colleagues and clients thanks to your knowledge of commercial financing.


Your Job:

  • Complete high-quality financial analysis, risk identification, deal structuring, risk rating models, customer due diligence/KYC, underwriting and documentation review/finalization, in accordance with the Bank’s established standards, for existing and new lending opportunities;
  • Author credit applications that present financing scenarios, risks and mitigating factors that meet client needs, while adhering to the Bank’s risk appetite;
  • Participate in determining client financing needs in collaboration with Commercial Account Managers and team leaders;
  • Discuss and negotiate terms and conditions with Credit Risk Management, as needed, and confirm the availability of financing for Commercial Account Managers;
  • Support the Commercial Banking team members in managing and growing an existing portfolio of commercial lending relationships; 
  • Independently manage an assigned portfolio of annual reviews;
  • Produce documents and update client files in collaboration with Account Representatives and Credit Risk Management to ensure credit applications are processed efficiently; and
  • Act as a resource person for your team in handling credit matters and assist, as needed, in addressing team members' skills development.

Our existing and prospective clients have borrowing needs that range from C$2MM to greater than C$20MM and operate across diversified industries. You will be surrounded by an entire ecosystem of experts to help you offer the best possible solutions to clients while developing your skills.

Reporting to the Associate Vice-President, the position will be based in either Calgary or Winnipeg, and will cover clients across Western Canada. You will operate in a hybrid work environment with both days in the office and at home.


Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, economics, finance or a related field;
  • Professional designation(s) and/or an advanced degree is considered a strong asset;
  • Two or more years of related commercial banking experience;
  • Strong knowledge of credit underwriting, loan structuring and financial statement analysis;
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of products (Excel & Word); and
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
