As an Investment Banking Analyst on the Power, Utilities & Infrastructure Investment Banking team at National Bank Financial Inc. ("NBF"), you play a lead role in supporting the team’s deal execution and pitch activity. You will participate in a wide variety of transactions led by senior members of the team and deepen your knowledge of the investment banking industry.
This role provides ample opportunity for career growth, as well as opportunities to collaborate with National Bank’s other Financial Markets business lines to help deepen your capital markets knowledge, including Equity Capital Markets, Credit Capital Markets, and Fixed Income.

Your Job
- Evaluating and analyzing the financial needs of corporate clients, including building complex financial models and performing valuation analysis
- Supporting deal teams with transaction structuring in addition to executing advisory and financing mandates with increasing levels of responsibility and accountability over time
- Preparing presentation materials to support our clients’ capital decision making
- Drafting marketing materials for transactions, including deal-related investor presentations, prospectuses, and related documentation
- Conducting company and industry research and analysis
- Performing various tasks supporting senior team members in their deal execution and client coverage efforts

Basic Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in investment banking, transactions advisory, equity research, or capital markets
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, accounting, economics or engineering is preferred, with a track record of strong academic performance
- Strong knowledge of financial theory, accounting, and capital markets
- Experience in, or knowledge of, the power, utilities, and infrastructure sectors would be valued
- Demonstrated financial modelling skillset, with experience developing complex, dynamic financial models; experience in project finance modelling is preferred
- Exceptional proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Word
- Experience with Bloomberg and Capital IQ would be considered an asset
- Demonstrated problem-solving mindset, collaborative approach and great team spirit
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships
- Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written)
