As Finance and Liquidity Risk Intern in the Liquidity & Funding Risk Oversight (Second Line of Defense) team at National Bank, you’ll support the monitoring and oversight of key risks and contribute to ensuring the Bank maintains strong positions under normal and stressed conditions.With your analytical mindset, your experience working with data, and your knowledge of financial markets and risk concepts, you’ll have a positive impact on risk transparency, data quality, and decision-making for senior management.

Your job
  • Support monitoring of key risk metrics and analyze trends
  • Contribute to preparation of risk reports for senior management
  • Learn and incorporate AI tools in risk assessment
  • Analyze datasets to identify insights and emerging risk patterns
  • Ensure accuracy and validation of data used in risk reporting
  • Support initiatives to improve processes, reporting, and automation
  • Collaborate with teams across Treasury, Finance, Risk and Capital Markets

Your team
As part of the Risk Management team, you’ll be on a team of risk specialists and you’ll report to a Senior Director, Liquidity & Funding Risk Oversight. This function plays a key role in the Bank’s Second Line of Defense by providing independent oversight, challenge, and validation of liquidity and funding risk management frameworks.
Our team stands out for its strong analytical expertise, high visibility across the organization, and direct exposure to senior leadership and regulatory matters. We operate in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, working closely with Treasury, Finance, and Capital Markets to support sound risk management practices and informed decision-making.

Prerequisites
  • Bachelor’s degree in progress in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with data and quantitative analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Excel; knowledge of Power BI, SQL, Python or visualization tools is an asset
