Your role
  • Participate in the Bank’s data transformation and enhancement strategy and lead risk management initiatives in this area
  • Help implement roadmaps and activities for the stewardship and supervision of data collection, access and use
  • Offer guidance on strategic and operational focuses and on needs related to data governance tools
  • Act as a data risk management specialist for the various business sectors
  • Draw up policies and standards, recommend them for approval and ensure compliance with them
  • Influence and guide the development of risk data aggregation and risk reporting practices (RDARR - BCBS-239) while helping to implement the principles in different sectors
  • Participate in operational risk assessments with respect to data as a second line of defence
  • Assess the Bank’s data risk posture and help produce risk monitoring indicators and dashboards
  • Act as a coach and professional resource person for management and the Chief Data Officer’s team
Prerequisites
  • University degree and around 7 years of relevant experience
  • In-depth experience of data governance and risks related to data use and exploitation
  • Participation in large-scale data transformation and/or data governance projects/programs
  • Experience in external audit, internal audit or regulatory compliance, working in an advisory role with senior executives and managers
  • Knowledge of one or more data manipulation languages: SAS, Python, SQL, etc, an asset
  • Knowledge of RDARR standards (Risk Data Aggregation and Risk Reporting - BCBS-239), an asset
