A career as an Analyst or Associate in the XVA team at National Bank offers an opportunity to sit in the middle of the risk management activity of our corporate clients, by offering a wide range of products to hedge their financial risks. In this role, you will be in contact with teams managing or selling all asset classes in Capital Markets and will have a real impact on our organization through your active participation in the structuring, pricing and trading of derivative products.
Your Job
- Publish the desk’s P&L report, maintain its code and investigate its decomposition.
- Provide an XVA pricing for derivatives to our internal sales teams.
- Proactively act as an expert resource on XVA in the structuring of solutions to all types of clients.
- Participate in the management of complex XVA risks via hedging strategies and execution.
- Continuously improve our electronic tools required for such calculations.
- Understand and improve the quantitative models underlying the required computations of XVA.
- Explain complex aspects of XVA to other teams.
- Collaborate on any other related project.
Your Team
The activities of the XVA team cover all aspects of finance: trading, pricing, modelling and programming. The XVA Analyst or Associate works closely with experienced members of the group as well as with various Capital Markets teams. You will have the opportunity to learn and contribute while evolving in a collaborative, results-oriented team environment that rewards professional excellence and individual initiative.
Please note that this role is based in Montreal and requires working on-site five days per week.
Requirements
- Master's degree in finance or financial engineering, actuarial science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field (0 to 3 years of relevant experience).
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and collaborative spirit.
- Knowledge of derivative products, their risks and hedging strategies.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VBA) and Bloomberg.
- Programming an asset (Python, C#, vue and javascript).
- Bilingualism, spoken and written (English and French) essential.
- Strong attention to details and solid time and stress management skills.
- Motivation to innovate.
- Strong work ethic.
- Strong interest in Capital Markets.
