About the Position
In this role, you will be responsible for performing installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting work on electrical systems in various surface mining buildings and infrastructures.
More specifically, your responsibilities will include :
- Reading and interpreting schematics, circuit plans, and specifications in accordance with the Electrical Code to determine wiring layouts in new or existing buildings;
- Installing and pulling cables through conduits, as well as through walls and floors;
- Installing electrical supports, brackets, and equipment;
- Installing, replacing, and repairing lighting, control, and electrical distribution devices (switches, relays, circuit breakers, starters, panels, etc.);
- Splicing, connecting, and wiring cables to devices and components to ensure proper circuit operation;
- Performing continuity and safety tests using appropriate instruments after installation, repair, or replacement of equipment;
- Diagnosing electrical problems and carrying out required troubleshooting;
- Strictly applying all applicable health and safety procedures, standards, and regulations.
Required Profile
- Journeyperson Competency Card
- Experience working in a northern environment (an asset)
- Ability to communicate in English (an asset)
