Used Car Director / Buyer

The Used Car Director / Buyer is responsible for acquiring, evaluating, and managing the used car inventory. He or she ensures the department’s profitability by developing effective purchasing strategies, negotiating the best deals, and working closely with the sales and management teams.
 
Key Responsibilities
Source and purchase vehicles from private sellers, dealerships, auctions, and partners.
Evaluate vehicles based on their condition, history, and market value.
Analyze the market to identify the best purchasing opportunities.
Negotiate purchase prices and close deals.
Manage trade-ins to maximize profitability.
Maintain a balanced inventory that meets customer needs.
Oversee the preparation and marketing of used vehicles.
Collaborate with the sales, financing, and service departments.
Monitor performance metrics (inventory turnover, profit margins, purchase and sales volume).
Provide excellent customer service and develop long-term business relationships.

Desired Qualifications
Experience in purchasing or managing used vehicles.
Excellent knowledge of the automotive market and appraisal tools.

Proficiency with computer tools and vehicle purchasing platforms (Marketplace, Kijiji, auctions, etc.).
