The logistics buyer is responsible for processing purchase transactions and verifying inventories of materials, equipment, and inventory. He/she actively supports the various departments in their procurement processes and ensures the efficient coordination of logistics services, which are essential for the smooth functioning of the supply chain.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and verify that materials, equipment and inventory are truly depleted.
  • Find sources and obtain prices from catalogs or suppliers and prepare purchase orders.
  • Organize and plan daily shipments (domestic and international).
  • Prepare transport documents (delivery note, invoices, customs declarations, etc.).
  • Communicate with suppliers to schedule deliveries and resolve any issues;
  • Optimize shipping costs and times.
  • Follow up on orders and delivery times.
  • Collaborate with all departments.
  • Perform data entry into the ERP system.

Requested skills

Desired profile

  • Attestation of Collegial Studies (AEC) in Supply Management or (DEC) in Supply Management or any other equivalent experience.
  • Language: fluency in spoken and written French and good knowledge of English.
  • Have ease with computers.
  • Ability to analyze costs, delivery times and operational needs.
  • Ability to work in a team and with multiple stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Be a good listener and have an ability to communicate.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple files simultaneously.

*Bilingualism is required for this position, as the majority of stakeholders use English. This skill is essential, as approximately 40% of responsibilities will be in English and 60% in French.
