Senior Mechanical & Electrical Project Manager
Maple Reinders Constructors is currently searching for an experienced Senior Mechanical & Electrical Project Manager to join our team on the Highland Creek Treatment Plant in Scarborough, Ontario.
As a Senior M&E Project Manager in our Civil division, you will have the opportunity to support our Project Team in the delivery of exciting Water and Wastewater construction projects. The focus of your role will be to maintain contract documentation, support estimating and assisting with the preparation of budgets and schedules. We work on a variety of types of contracts such as Design Build, Plan and Spec and Construction Management and you would gain experience on all of these.
The purpose of the Senior M&E Project Manager is to ensure that a profit is made on the project, that the work is performed as per the contract documents, that the project is completed with outstanding quality, and that the jobsite is a safe workplace.
Job Duties:
- Developing and managing project plans and schedules.
- Selecting suppliers and sub-trades and obtaining quotations.
- Overseeing M&E activities, functions and resources.
- Negotiating and clarifying scope of work with sub-trades and suppliers.
- Managing the submittals and approvals process.
- Reviewing shop drawings.
- Setup and orderly management of project administration files.
- Document control (distribution of drawings & specifications).
- Involvement in implementing and updating QA/QC in individual projects.
- Ensuring progress payments are received in a timely manner.
- Quote and negotiate change orders.
- Provide M&E support and technical expertise to the Estimating department and proposals department as required.
- Assisting with project site meetings and sub-trade coordination meetings.
- Develop effective relationships with current and prospective clients, consultants, realtors, and developers.
- Preparing budgets and regular cost projection reviews.
- Responsible for proper administration of construction contracts.
- Ensures all required permits and licenses are obtained.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years or more experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry (Ideally with a General Contractor)
- A University Degree/Technology Diploma in Civil Engineering, mechanical trade or a combination of education and industry experience.
- Process mechanical experience is a MUST.
- Valid drivers license and access to own vehicle.
