The Opportunity:
The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance to HACCP, Plant Food Safety Programs and Audit Standards.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
  • Must be flexible in hours of work to accommodate position responsibilities necessary over all production and sanitation shifts (AM, PM and Overnights).
  • Conducts all required plant internal audits as defined by the Plant Risk Assessment within the defined frequency. If time permits in the year, additional clauses not part of the original risk assessment will also be conducted.
  • Issues QN’s for deficiencies identified as a result of the audits performed and complete appropriate follow up.
  • Follows up on corrective actions and preventative measures to ensure compliance with HACCP, Plant Food Safety Programs and Audit Standards.
  • Oversees the completion of the food defense and foreign material audit process to ensure timely completion and provide guidance as required.
  • Prevents the on-going production of non-compliant product when non-conformities are observed or identified.
  • Provides timely and effective feedback to the FSQA Supervisor, FSQA Manager and other stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Provides Food Safety support to other members of FSQA and production.
  • Assists in Six Sigma Projects as required.
  • Responsible for maintaining thorough knowledge of all food safety and regulatory programs in order to act as a liaison between FSQA and other departments as a subject matter expert.
  • Responsible as back-up support for Food Safety and Quality Assurance Department as required and permitted as a result of role requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Ensure ongoing regulatory and third party food safety compliance.
What You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor of Science or Diploma in Food Safety/Science program or equivalent industry experience
  • Strong understanding of Sanitation, SOPs, Pre-requisite Programs, HACCP, CCP’s and GMP’s
  • HACCP I-II certificate
  • 2-3 years’ experience in the Food industry preferred
  • 1-2 years audit experience preferred
  • Strong leadership & organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be accurate and consistent while auditing while maintaining legible, complete and detailed records.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft excel and word
  • Candidates applying will be able to work a 2:00pm - 10:30pm schedule
