Under the responsibility of the Human Resources Director, the position holder performs various support tasks for the HR department, including training, recruitment, integration of new employees and payroll.

Main tasks and responsibilities of the position:

  • Participates in the complete recruitment process: post adds, does CVs screening, interviews, verifies references and criminal background, schedules pre-employment exams as well as medical and follow-ups;
  • Greets all new employees (prepares files, presents rules and policies, secures all necessary signatures, follows-up on missing information and prepares the training plan), etc.;
  • Updates and maintains all job profiles in the quality system and ensures NA P HR18 process' integrity;
  • Compiles all activities of training of the location;
  • Participates in the disciplinary process by writing some of the disciplinary measures;
  • Ensures the respect of interpretation of all articles in the collective agreement by supervisors and managers of the operations department;
  • Performs the entire job posting procedure in the plant and documentation follow-up by completing the appropriate form including follow-up on training programs (IOPI) during station changes in the plant as well as shifting of positions;
  • Participates in preparation of investigation and analysis of grievances and studies all collected facts and evidence;
  • Follows-up on changes of rates as per the collective agreement
  • Assists in preparing the pay as requested by the Payroll Supervisor;
  • Meets with new employees to do hiring and exit interviews;
  • Assists in the Recognition Program and participates, depending on the needs, in social activities;
  • Does all his/her clerical work and filing;
  • Does any other related tasks.

Requested skills

  • Education: BAC or Certificate in Human Resources
  • Years of experience: 2 years in a similar position
  • Basic knowledge of applicable laws on labor standards in Ontario, an asset
  • Languages spoken and written: English (French would be an asset)
  • Office automation software: MS Office, ADP, Oracle
  • Knowledge of HR Management and hiring techniques
  • Time and priority management and sense of planning and organization
  • Communication skills and Analytical capacity
