Description
As part of the Global Wealth and Asset Management (GWAM) and General Account (GA) Controls Center of Excellence (COE), the Senior Financial Analyst, GA & GWAM Controls COE, plays a key role in supporting management from the segment in navigating the SOX/MAR testing cycle and driving process efficiencies.
Position Responsibilities:
Build effective relationships with key stakeholders through collaboration and coordination with different functional areas and leaders to document SOX/MAR controls, gather and review audit evidence, and track progress of testing with internal/external auditors.
Effectively manage SOX/MAR walkthroughs and related activities for assigned business areas.
Support the quarterly close cycle by helping to prepare dashboards and reports for senior management.
Assist in the assessment and review of the adequacy of controls and any deficiencies noted within the business.
Present findings and recommendations to the team and business owners and using strong written and verbal communication skills. Design solutions to manage risk and provide insight into processes and controls.
Maintain a high level of responsiveness to internal and external auditors, management, and other key stakeholders.
Drive continuous improvement of management’s control framework and team processes.
Additionally, the individual will have the opportunity to support various ad hoc controls and audit related initiatives on the team.
Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate/Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred, with 3-5+ years of Accounting, Audit, Finance, or equivalent work experience.
Working knowledge of SOX/MAR and IFRS/NAIC accounting guidelines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills - able to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders; able to effectively communicate ideas and recommendations orally and in writing, while considering the viewpoints of others.
Detailed oriented with strong organization and project management skills; commitment to quality while still meeting deadlines.
Prioritizing and reprioritizing work deliverables and projects based on changing business needs (deadlines, scope of projects).
Team player and self-motivated; able to work independently and with teams in Boston, Toronto, and other international locations.

Working Arrangement
Salary range is expected to be between
$71,925.00 CAD - $119,875.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
