Portfolio Manager

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and thorough Portfolio Manager to join our team! The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the processes and initiatives while playing a key role in supporting internal continuous improvement efforts. This role calls for a problem solver with solid project management abilities and a dedication to improving efficiency and effectiveness within the team.


Responsibilities

Portfolio/Project Management:

  • Oversee and manage internal portfolio of projects, ensuring alignment with team goals and objectives.
  • Support scoping and planning of upcoming initiatives and road mapping as well as quarterly planning.
  • Monitor progress, budgets, timelines, and deliverables, providing regular updates to leadership.
  • Identify and mitigate risks across the portfolio, ensuring successful project delivery.

Process Improvement:

  • Support internal processes from estimations to closure.
  • Support internal process improvement initiatives by identifying areas for enhancement and implementing standard methodologies.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to analyze current processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.
  • Develop and implement process improvement plans, tracking progress and measuring impact.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for portfolio-related inquiries, managing stakeholder expectations and requirements.
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews with partners to ensure transparency and alignment.
  • Lead and guide project teams, promoting a collaborative environment.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in Portfolio, Project Management, Process Improvement.
  • Has expertise in leading iterative and agile initiatives; PMP and SAFe designation would be an asset.
  • Ability to interact with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; able to optimally articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes to technical and non-technical audience
  • Experience in process improvement initiatives, with a focus on driving operational efficiency.
  • Proven experience as a Portfolio Manager or in a similar role, with a strong track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Excellent understanding of project management methodologies, especially Agile and tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage partners at all levels.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office Products.

Salary range is expected to be between

$94,220.00 CAD - $174,980.00 CAD
