The Opportunity

As the Head of Bank Marketing, you will be at the forefront of transforming marketing into a true strategic engine-championing the customer voice, unlocking the power of digital and AI, and influencing decisions that shape how we help people live better lives. Position Responsibilities:

Communications Strategy

  • Develop internal and external communication strategies and tools, which align with the business philosophies.
  • Evaluate the success and applicability of communication strategies and tactics for both advisor and employee audiences.
  • Create a cohesive and consistent brand/image for Advisory Services through a marketing and communications strategy.
  • Conduct competitive and market research to determine best practices and optimal methods of meeting the communication needs of the business units within Advisory Services

Marketing Strategy

  • Develop and evaluate an advertising strategy that positions us as a leader in the independent space.
  • Foster relationships with key industry publications and organizations to capitalize on opportunities to support the Manulife Securities’ recruiting strategy
  • Develop a comprehensive social media strategy leveraging internal expertise to establish parameters and evaluation metrics.
  • Conduct competitive and market research to determine the marketing needs of the business
  • Develop and oversee sponsorship strategy, evaluating all potential sponsorship opportunities, ensuring brand and reputation control, as well as optimal ROI.

Collaboration

  • Develop relationships with internal and external partners to deliver effective integrated marketing and communications to meet the needs of all stakeholders including social media, Digital, Brand, Public Relations.

Management/Leadership

  • Develop, lead and coach team, cultivating an engaging and motivating environment and championing individual career growth and professional development.
  • Provide leadership in development of marketing and communications for new and existing products, programs and initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance is top of mind.
  • Provide communication and marketing guidance
  • Manage marketing/advertising and sponsorship budget

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ business-related experience, including several years of marketing and communications experience.
  • University degree in Marketing, Communications (or equivalent).
  • Proven track record in successfully designing and implementing communications and marketing strategies, delivering to deadlines and meeting budget requirements.
  • Highly developed marketing and communications acumen with extensive knowledge of communications disciplines, techniques, legal responsibilities and government/securities regulations.
  • Advanced strategic planning skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Superior writing and editing skills, developed within the investment industry.
  • Excellent communication skills are also required to work effectively with multiple stakeholders, synthesize information, present appropriate recommendations and manage the communications development cycle to completion according to negotiated timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to hire and successfully manage staff and external/internal advertising and marketing services agencies.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset. If the successful candidate is in Québec, proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various provinces outside of Quebec.

Salary range is expected to be between

$129,800.00 CAD - $241,200.00 CAD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
