We are seeking a motivated Data Scientist to join our Canadian Artificial Intelligence team, specializing in fraud detection. This role is pivotal in developing sophisticated AI and ML models to enhance fraud detection capabilities across our business operations. As a Data Scientist, you will develop and implement robust analytical solutions, applying both traditional and emerging machine learning and AI techniques, including outlier detection, link analysis, and fraud pattern recognition, while deploying applications on cloud platforms like Azure. You will work closely with multi-functional teams to design and implement fraud detection algorithms, contributing to improved security, customer experience, and operational efficiency. This role demands a blend of analytical expertise, strategic thinking, and a passion for innovation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Fraud Detection and Modeling:

  • Utilize advanced statistical methods and machine learning techniques to analyze complex datasets, identifying fraudulent activities and patterns.

  • Develop and refine predictive models to enhance fraud detection accuracy, estimation, and efficiency.

  • Support Fraud Prevention Initiatives:

  • Collaborate with security and risk teams to develop strategies that prevent and mitigate fraud risks.

  • Implement real-time monitoring and alert systems for rapid fraud detection and response.

  • Product Development Insights:

  • Work closely with product development teams to integrate fraud detection capabilities into product offerings, ensuring robust security measures are in place.

  • Operational Efficiency:

  • Design and implement data-driven solutions to streamline fraud detection processes, improving operational efficiency and reducing false positives.

  • Enhance Customer Experience:

  • Analyze customer transaction data to identify suspicious behavior, ensuring a secure and seamless customer experience.

  • Collaborative Problem Solving:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business challenges related to fraud, translating them into data science projects and delivering impactful solutions.

  • Data Management and Governance:

  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security while adhering to best practices and regulatory requirements for data management within the financial industry.

  • Continuous Learning and Innovation:

  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in fraud detection and data science, promoting a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Years of experience

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with machine learning libraries/frameworks

  • Bachelor', Master's degree, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in data science, analytics, or a related field, with a focus on fraud detection preferred.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with machine learning libraries/frameworks

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & standard methodologies for the full software development process, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

  • Experience with AzureML, Databricks, and PowerBI

  • Strong collaboration and elaboration skills; demonstrates a strong commitment to organizational success; shares resources and demonstrates knowledge across the organization.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively to develop innovative solutions.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multi-functional teams.

  • Experience with Salesforce is preferred

Salary range is expected to be between

$75,880.00 CAD - $140,920.00 CAD
