- Supports staffing, facility and equipment requirements related to department.
- Supports with the identification and implementation of corrective & preventive action for any non-conformance within their jurisdiction or for any non-compliance identified during customer / internal and / or external audit
- Provide formal and informal feedback to team members.
- Lead and participate in the continuous improvement, cost reduction and sustainability programs.
- Complies and upholds the expectations of internal standards, processes, and legislative requirements.
- Conduct in accordance with the Magna Charter, Magna Operating Principles and Corporate Ethics guidelines.
- Implements Magna Standards such as MMSA, MAFACT and GQS compliant systems where needed.
- Quality (IATF), Environmental (ISO 14001) and Information Security (TISAX) awareness and adherence
- Responsible for ensuring adherence to daily 5S activities and cleaning schedule.
- Work with other departments towards overall plant goals.
- Any other requests deemed reasonable by management.
- Oversee the daily operations of the material handling and ASRS personnel & support all other departments.
- Assist with the management of the operations activities to meet customer requirements.
- Assist with shift and production run changes to ensure on-time delivery of quality products.
- Participates in manpower requirements planning and overtime scheduling.
- Responsible for improvement initiatives related to Key Operating Indicators assigned by Manager.
- Assist in defining the standardized work & ensure team members are suitably trained & re-trained as required
- Assist with the implementation & maintenance of MMSA & MMOG compliant systems where needed
- Responsible for 5 Alarm Inventory monitoring and proactive reporting.
- Responsible for ensuring FIFO, Stack Height, Stock location and Racking Labeling adherence is followed
- Responsible for corrective action for Forklift issues, damaged stock, Phyto sanitation violations etc.
- Ensures proper training of personnel for safe working conditions, PPE, Stack Height, Material Handling practices, Lockout, TDG, Dock Inspections, ASRS Safety, Racking Inspections, & ergonomic practices.
- Assist Manager with Customer interface for materials & delivery related issues
- Education: Minimum Grade 12 Education
- Experience: 3 years Materials experience in high-volume JIT environment required.
- Characteristics: Able to communicate effectively with coworkers; Effective trouble shooting; Possess leadership skills; Promotes teamwork; Instills empowerment; Ability to uphold confidentiality & integrity.
- Technical: Experience in materials warehousing management; Valid Lift Truck License; ERP System Experience and Automotive related knowledge an asset.
