Unit Secretary - Maternal Fetal Medicine

In collaboration with ultrasound technicians, other hospital staff and various community services provides clerical support to maintain progressive and personalized healthcare environment.

The Unit Secretary is responsible for booking tests and appointments in a fast paced, dynamic clinic setting. This position also inputs data information including chart preparation in EPIC, printing labels, and completing patient calls in preparation for care as well as other duties to support excellent care. The Unit Secretary will respond to inquiries on the telephone, over email and in person as well as communicating with staff, obstetrics clinics, patients and families. This position maintains and orders different types of office and hospital equipment and supplies

What must you have?

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Previous administration experience in an Obstetrical or Ambulatory Clinic environment
  • Prior experience in an administrative/clerical role required, preferably within a healthcare environment
  • Keyboarding skills (40 wpm).
  • Computer literacy in a Windows environment utilizing Word and Outlook.
  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills.

Preferably, your profile also includes:

  • Previous experience within the Unit Secretary classification.
  • EPIC, EPF, ESP experience
