Job Description Summary:

The Sr Business Analyst of Loblaw Brands works in partnership with stakeholders using data and analytics to measure performance of critical objectives and key results in the Loblaw Brands Business. The Sr. Analyst will apply analytical skills to develop actionable insights that translate into business building strategies and initiatives with the use of internal and external data sources while adapting to changing business needs and proactively responding to opportunities. Our ideal candidate isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves, get deep into the data and challenge the status quo.

What you'll do:

  • Track business performance on a weekly basis with an emphasis on CB insights on new items, key drivers, trends and outlook for the leadership and executive team
  • Program performance reporting and insights for major control brand programs for different stakeholders within the business unit
    • Understand and influence the performance metrics that are being reported on prior to roll out
  • Able to expand to leverage different types of data and view it from a different lens in order to provide meaningful insights to influence the presence of CB items and how customers shop at our stores.
  • Support and conduct ad-hoc analyses leveraging internal & external data sources for business specific issues supporting brand and category teams, including but not limited to consumer research, market audits, customer data analytics
  • Leverage transactional data to highlight gaps and monitor customer trends in different markets
  • Create reports/dashboards for different stakeholders with an emphasis on providing an out of the box view on the program.

What you bring:

  • Post-secondary education in Business/Finance/Economics/Commerce or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in an analytics role.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze large data sets to bring forward meaningful insights using critical thinking skills
  • Advanced MS Excel skills with the ability to independently problem solve
  • Motivated, resourceful, detail-oriented, team player, with a learner’s mindset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present to different levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Experience as an end user with relational database Tools (MicroStrategy, SAP, ABI etc)
  • Experience with AC Nielsen and trend/research databases (Mintel, Euromonitor, Trendhunter, etc) an asset
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, Teradata/SQL, Big Query, data analysis with Python an asset
  • Experience in retail operations merchandise planning, and analytics is an asset
