General Summary
Hard Discount FP&A is a dynamic, fast paced team responsible for driving divisional consolidation of periodic forecast, the annual Strategic Plan and the periodic budget. We deliver value-added business analysis as well as define and report on meaningful financial and operational metrics that support insightful and accurate decision-making by the business.
The Senior Manager, Hard Discount FP&A role will provide the candidate with opportunities to drive forecasting, budgeting, and reporting optimization across the division, lead cross-functional business processes, and perform ad-hoc analysis on the key business drivers and opportunities for the division.
What you'll do:
Manage the periodic forecast and financial governance cycles, including: coordinating inputs across teams teams, preparation and validation of the consolidated P&L; leading P&L review with divisional finance leads; preparation and distribution of P&L summaries and analytics
Lead and support components of the Annual and Periodic budget build, including: data collection and consolidation; model and driver build of key line items; report preparation and review; coordination of activities, timelines and accountabilities across multiple stakeholders
Provide leadership in the development and continuous evaluation of short and long term strategic financial initiatives
Analyze weekly and periodic results to identify emerging trends and opportunities
Consolidate large amounts of complex information into simple and easy to understand reports
Develop, implement and enhance financial models that consider multiple drivers
Mentor and coach team members in achieving their goals and IDPs, provide feedback and address any performance issues
Liase with other functional areas within the organization to co-ordinate cross-functional analyses and data accumulation
Ad hoc projects and analyses
What you bring:
A Post-Secondary education in Finance or related field is required
Minimum of 5 -7 years' finance or accounting experience
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, or working towards the designation
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to bring together and manage interactions with employees from across the organization
Proven People Management and Coaching skills
Strong eye for business, with an ability to focus on continuous improvement
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Results Oriented and Critical Thinking skills
Exceptional analytical skills and proven capability to drive insights from data and analytics
Advanced Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
Familiarity with SAP and MicroStrategy will be an asset
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
