DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for performing day to day Accounts Receivable activities with a high level of accuracy
  • Review of current processes and take initiative in executing roadmap for the department
  • Continuously implement process improvement initiatives to increase the effectiveness and productivity of the department.
  • Take a lead role in ensuring that department objectives and initiatives are completed
  • Lead Accounts Receivable related projects that will better support the team
  • Identify control gaps and recommend appropriate remediation
  • Assist department Manager with defining team metrics and setting strategies to meet and exceed targets
  • Take an assertive role in the identification and implementation of process improvement and system modifications to increase productivity and efficiency; set process standards where appropriate
  • Manage various reporting requirement and actively participate on periodic meetings
  • Support with setup of worksheet templates within the team
  • Develop effective reporting tools for the department including key performance indicators to measure departmental efficiency
  • Various other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 5 years of Account Receivables experience is required, or a combination of education and work-related experience
  • Previous experience with SAP would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in analyzing large volume of financial data using the most current reporting tools such as Power Query, Power BI, Database applications is considered an asset.
  • Strong organization and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask daily activities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze financial data and suggest improvements to existing procedures and practices to increase productivity and meet organization’s objectives
  • Intermediate to advance experience with Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Microsoft Access, and Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Possess a customer centric mindset and have ability to negotiate positive outcomes for both the business and the customer.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects/priorities and meet deadlines, under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional attitude and demeanor (business attire, communication, positive attitude)
  • Ability to lead by example, demonstrating a determined, energetic, and positive approach.
  • Ability to delegate work and follow up for completion
  • Enrollment in an accredited accounting program is considered an asset
  • Very good understanding of basic accounting principles
