Crowsnest Consolidated High School requires a part-time Educational Assistant (17.5 hours per week). This position will begin as soon as a suitable candidate is found.
Under the direction of the Learning Support Teacher, the successful candidate will provide one-on-one and small group assistance for students to help meet the goals identified in the student's learning plan as well as in-class supports for students with Individual Student Plans (ISPs).
Required qualifications include the following:
- Experience working with students in one-on-one, small group and inclusive classroom settings
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with students who require patience and flexibility
- Experience and training in working with students with different diagnoses from Autism to complex needs
- Experience in working collaboratively with a Learning Support Team
- Physically fit and able to keep up with the demands of working with a student with complex needs
- Educational Assistant certification and/or Health Care Aide certification or equivalent would be an asset
- NVCI and/or SIVA training would be an asset.
- Ability to support student requiring toileting and personal care
