Courier

As a Courier, you will be responsible for transporting specimens, supplies, and reports in an efficient, dependable, punctual, proper, safe, and professional manner. You will also be a LifeLabs brand ambassador on the road, demonstrating the important service LifeLabs provides to the community while maintaining our established reputation.

Status: Casual (Float)

Shift: Various based on operational requirements

Location: 121 Wellington St West, Barrie, ON

Additional Requirements: This is an on-call position with 0–20 hours per week and no guaranteed hours. Employees must be prepared to work in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, sleet, and icy conditions. The role requires regular driving on Highway 11, Highway 12, and Ontario’s 400-series highways. Candidates must be flexible with scheduling, as shifts may start as early as 7:30 a.m. and end as late as 2:00 a.m., depending on operational requirements

Please note: all company vehicles have a Telematics system to monitor driving. 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Safely transport specimens in a timely manner to preserve specimen integrity, while ensuring a high level of maturity, customer service, and accountability in various driving conditions, rural or urban areas, during daytime and evening hours. 
• Represent the LifeLabs brand with professionalism and integrity by providing a positive experience at every touch point. 
• Utilize LifeLabs technology to access and complete on-line readings and training, read emails and complete timecards. 
• Ensure customer satisfaction by handling all situations with professionalism. 

What you will bring to the role:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• A full valid driver’s license and clean driver’s record
• 3 years of driving experience with a full valid license
• Ability to lift and/or maneuver up to 50 pounds: some heavy lifting will be involved.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
• Ability to work a specified route schedule
• Requires successful completion of LifeLabs Driver Performance Evaluation.
• Flexible work hours and availability for sudden shift changes
