We are currently seeking a candidate who is qualified for the role of Payroll Clerk. The hours will typically be Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm.

Typical Duties Include (but are not limited to):

  • Process full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees in accordance with company policies and legislative requirements
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including earnings, deductions, benefits, and statutory remittances
  • Administer payroll changes such as new hires, terminations, leaves, salary adjustments, and bonuses
  • Reconcile payroll reports, general ledger entries, and payroll-related accounts
  • Prepare and submit statutory filings (e.g., source deductions, ROEs, year-end reporting)
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Support audits and internal reviews by providing payroll documentation and reports
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure data accuracy and process alignment
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency within payroll operations


Key Skill Requirements:

  • Strong working knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, lookups, data validation, pivot tables)
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information


Key Experience/Education:

  • 4–7 years of progressive payroll administration experience
  • Experience using in-house payroll systems or ERP-based payroll software (e.g., Great Plains or similar platforms)
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Payroll designation (e.g., PCP or equivalent) considered an asset
  • Experience supporting payroll across multiple locations or employee groups considered an asset
