A division of Liburdi Dimetrics is GAPCO (The Great Atlantic and Pacific Pipe Welding & Construction Company, Inc.), a provider of welding solutions to the construction and power energy industries. Through the use of state of the art technology, advanced weld engineering, skilled trades and project management, Liburdi offers customers high quality service and product.

We are currently seeking a candidate who is qualified for the role of Mechanical/Welding Engineering. The role of Mechanical/Welding Engineering reports to the Mechanical/Welding Engineer. Liburdi Dimetrics Corporation offers competitive wages. The hours will typically be Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm.

Typical Duties Include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensure welding fabrications are in compliance with standard welding engineering practices and applicable ASME, CSA, API and ISO codes and customer specifications
  • Perform research and development on new welding processes and techniques
  • Develop welding procedure and welder qualification plan
  • Oversee welding procedure and welder qualification
  • Provide technical expertise and welding solutions for various applications
  • Collaborate with Customer, vendors and project team to ensure implementation of code compliance of welding procedures and practices
  • Oversee progress to ensure execution is performed according to the welding qualification plan and code compliance

Key Skill Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks

Key Experience/Education:

  • University Degree in welding engineering, mechanical engineering or metallurgical sciences is required
  • A Minimum 3-5 years of engineering experience with different welding processes, equipment and quality control
  • CWB welding supervisor or inspector certification would be an asset
