Ledcor Highways Ltd. | Full-Time, Seasonal | Highway Maintenance

Ledcor Highways is seeking an experienced Foreperson to lead pavement marking operations and support a major provincial highway maintenance contract. This seasonal role requires strong safety leadership, operational oversight, and the ability to manage crews and equipment across multiple worksites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all safety activities, including toolbox talks, hazard assessments, PPE compliance, and incident reporting
  • Supervise daily paint crew operations, assign tasks, mentor new workers, and maintain strong team communication
  • Oversee equipment readiness, material loading, application rates, and production efficiency
  • Perform quality checks on line width, thickness, and reflectivity; correct defects and complete QA documentation
  • Manage daily reporting, timesheets, cost tracking, and onboard computer entries.
  • Track materials, coordinate repairs, maintain maintenance records, and support fleet/asset management
  • Ensure compliance with NSC regulations, environmental standards, and contract requirements
  • Support planning, scheduling, performance tracking, and client communication

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in highway maintenance, construction, or infrastructure operations
  • Strong leadership, communication, planning, and problem‑solving skills
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, and quality management systems
  • Experience managing multiple worksites and performance‑based contracts is an asset
  • Tech Savvy working with aps and inputting data into various systems
  • Ability to work long shifts and manage physical field demands
  • Commitment to safety above all else
  • Valid Class 1 or 3 with air brake endorsement
  • Clear 3 yr drivers abstract
  • Ability to pass pre- employment drug and alcohol testing

Work Conditions

  • Start Date: April 13th - Spring/Summer Seasonal work : April- October
  • 12 - 14 hrs/day
  • Travel, shift work, on-call availability, and night shifts required during operating months
  • Accommodation/Meal allowance/ LOA provided
  • Work locations span provincial and municipal highways across Alberta
  • Preference given to local candidates given the nature of work
