We are seeking a General Maintenance Attendant to perform general interior and exterior maintenance of buildings and property under the supervision of the Manager - Infrastructure and Maintenance. The successful candidate will perform various plumbing, electrical, painting, and plastering tasks, as well as preventive building inspections.

YOUR TALENTS WILL BE USED TO MEET THE FOLLOWING CHALLENGES:

 

REGULAR MAINTENANCE :

  • Perform simple carpentry tasks.
  • Repair sanitary facilities.
  • Perform heavy housekeeping duties.
  • Maintain and adjust machinery, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the premises.
  • Complete work according to a weekly to-do list.
  • Respond to service calls.

 

REPAIRS:

  • Perform medium-complexity carpentry work, such as assembly, veneering, gluing, and restoration, on various surfaces, equipment, and furnishings.
  •  Perform plaster coating work.
  • Repair and install various insulation, covering, and waterproofing materials on roofs and inside buildings.
  • Perform work involving the repair and restoration of ceramic, cement block, glass block, and other similar materials or substances.
  • Perform basic to complex repairs on sanitary facilities.
  • Maintain simple mechanical installations, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, safety, and fire protection systems, as well as electrical systems.

 

PROJECTS AND FOLLOW-UP WITH THE SERVICE PROVIDER:

  • Act as a resource person for service providers and give them access to the premises.
  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental rules in the workplace during follow-ups with service providers.
  • Collect all work orders from service providers and submit them to the immediate manager.
  • Ensure that all work performed by contractors and subcontractors is carried out according to requirements.
  • Monitor work in progress daily.
  • Participate and support the activities of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.

 

OUR IDEAL COLLEAGUE HAS:

  • Vocational diploma in general building maintenance or carpentry
  • Minimum of two to five years of experience in this type of work
  • Good knowledge of the construction industry
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Customer service and active listening skills
  • Safety-conscious and a team player
  • Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Independent and able to work well under pressure
  • Knowledge of mechanics and electricity (an asset)
  • Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written (an asset). English is used approximately 5% of the time each week.
